    New install Diverter valve puzzlement

Well I know I hat the threads that have a problem and no solution, so. I ordered and received a Delta Rp 51919 6 way cartridge and now all the items in the shower work correctly! You would think a 3 way would operate 3 things but alas its not quite that simple. Have a good one. Phil

    New install Diverter valve puzzlement

Thanks, After looking some more I think its the cartridge. It looks like I need a Delta RP51919 Which is the 6 way. I added the hand heal after the initial order now I think about it. I hope its that simple. The shower now is doing exactly what the 3 way should do. On both or the other. Keep...

    Water temp in Remodeled Bathroom

That's the thing I'm coming off the old existing pipe from the bathroom. Coming out of the water heater is 3/4 copper. It goes pretty far across the house I suspect to my daughters basement bath before going to 1/2. No tempering valves or anything that I can see. I picked up the lines under the...

    Water temp in Remodeled Bathroom

Hi All, Nearing completion of our bath remodel. Have the toilet working fine, One sink with vanity installed and a 50 gal tub. I have a 75 Gal water heater on the far side of the house, but so far the water in the tub will only get warm. If we run a bit of cold water it will get quite hot for...

Thanks All, Got it all done. A quick slot with the Jig say and an extension Tailpiece and we are good to go. Best of all Mrs. Phil is happy with that part. Now my issue in the sink and the Tub is the lack of Hot water. I'll ask a new question Phil

    P-trap to wall height difference

Installing a sink in our new vanity. The rough plumbing waste/vent was roughed in at 19 1/2 inches per info I found here. The new sink is in a vanity which is more furniture like. With the sink set and the p-trap attached to the tail pipe there is about a 3" difference in height, the p-trap...

Plumbing on a new bathroom. Vent question

Well back again. Had the plumbing all inspect this am. He came yesterday and took a look and I had 2 vents backwards. The inspector pointed that out and gave me a couple of options. I got it straightened out last night and he came back this am for the pressure test. We used air to test and...

Plumbing on a new bathroom. Vent question

I spoke with the framing inspector who said just drill the top plate. I spoke with the plumbing inspector who actually came out to the house and looked it over and said I was on the right track. He wants me to wet vent the lav and the toilet using a 2" vent required for the toilet. My distance...

Plumbing on a new bathroom. Vent question

Thanks Terry, Here is a diagram of what I am doing. I thought through the endless hours I have spent on here and other places that I had to have an individual vent for each fixture. This is the way I was planning the DWV. Anyway my biggest issue is whether or not to put a 2"vent which is...

Plumbing on a new bathroom. Vent question

Hello, I am working on a bathroom remodel. Adding a entire new bath one hall over from the old tiny bath. The far end of my run is a shower drain. It is 2' ABS and has a 1 1/2 vent less than 4 feet down stream going up to the attic where it will tie into the main stack. The next fixture is...

Excessive Charges? 73 yr old father needs a hand

Interesting comments. Dad 's probably not a guy who would "deserve" to have the bad attitude factor priced in. HJ it is not an ideal situation trying to judge at all after the job what it was worth. Dad had asked for a quote and evidently one was not provided and for what ever reason the job...

Excessive Charges? 73 yr old father needs a hand

Hey All, Talked to my father last night. He was telling me he had a slide in shower unit installed in his rental house. I'm trying to get him to send me a photo of the job. He is frustrated it wasn't done well and he is having to Jerry Rig the drywall to fit. He is claiming poor workmanship on...

    Beam support next to foundation

Thanks for the replies. I didn't figure out how to make a sketch and post it. I did figure out how to draw it out and take it to the lumber yard and bases on our local codes got me dialed in. The floor of the basement in our area is way below the frost line. The idea to put the post on a pier...
