I'm trying to remove a waste from an antique hand basin (sink). When I try to undo the thread, the whole waste rotates within the sink. Is there a special tool or trick to doing this? I've already tried using graphite penetrating oil on the thread and heating the nut. Any thoughts?

Sure, you can drill off the nut or cut it with a hacksaw, once you do this, all you have to do now is take a screwdriver and pry the nut off, rest will be easy afterwards.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
