There have been several mentions in the forum regarding valve placement measurements, in regard to installing Toto toilets to adapt a 14" rough-in with a Unifit adapter. Apparently, for some toilets, the valve needs to be placed at 5-1/2", for others at 7" (I'm sure I'm getting the terminology wrong here). We have a 14" rough-in and are considering purchasing either the Vespin or the Carrollton with a Unifit. I've attached a pic of the current toilet set-up (God only knows how old this AS toilet is)--would that help in pointing out to me which toilet would be best for our situation?

Thanks very much.

P.S. Another "fit" question:

Can all Toto tank levers work with any Toto toilet? If we ended up purchasing the Vespin, we would like to replace the tank lever with the tank lever on the Carrollton (the porcelain and chrome hanging lever).

Thanks. :)

Problem solved. Our plumber said that, for $125, he could move the rough-in from 14" to 12" for us.

Many thanks to everyone for your kind replies. This forum is just the best.

Toto Vespin II CST474CEFG with SS114 Softclose seat.
This bowl was installed on a 13-1/2" rough-in using the 14" Unifit adapter.
The water shutoff can be as close as 5-1/2" to the left of center, unless it's higher off the floor, and then it can be even closer to center.
This shutoff had been replaced with a new 1/4 turn valve with brass nipple through the wall.

In some of the older Seattle homes, the old toilets had been wall mounted tank toilets.
Those typically are 14" rough-in and need a flange repair to use standard closet bolt connections at the flange.
Everything is on the truck for that.
The Vespin comes with a standard 12" adapter or you can order a 10" or 14" adapter depending on your rough-in distance.
