Hi there,

I had installed a new fridge about a week ago, everything was working fine. Until i came home yesterday to find my kitchen and dining room flooded....(in the midst of reno's so damage was minimal) Anyway it seemed that the plastic water line running up from the crawl space into the compression fitting on the back of my fridge popped off. I have included a diagram illustrating how it was connected, perhaps you can comment as to what I did wrong?

it seems the plastic line came out leaving the brass stabilizer and plastic ring inside the fitting.

Thanks so much for your help

I've never liked the plastic lines to icemakers.

Best is installing a box behind the frig with a hammer arrestor.
Then either coiled soft copper or the stainless braided connectors.

The diagram does look right.

Many appliance stores will not hook up an icemaker.
For this very reason.
