Where's the cartridge in this faucet handle?

My mother bought top-line fixtures during a now 20-year-old renovation but they're not obviously branded. She has a leaking bath sink faucet. I got the handle off but it didn't reveal any clues as to how to access the cartridge. There's nowhere to put a tool on the middle section without damaging the finish.

If you're able to get me to the cartridge, how do I get a replacement if I don't know the brand?

Barry Walter fort morgan Co they are on line or phone experts in getting you hooked up with obsolete parts and they manufacture as well but they are the ones to get you the part and might advize on disassembly

Thank you for the suggestions on where to look for parts. My Mother now thinks they are California Faucets. That company has a lifetime replacement warranty on their cartridges for the original owner. I hope she's right. She had another faucet of theirs start dripping and customer service was AMAZING (and US-based). I hope to hear back from the company on Monday.

I like Delta as they do stand behind their products with free replacements. Their anti-scald shower body is easy to set the temperature and is relatively cheap
