For a kitchen remodal, we've installed a Waterstone hot water faucet, and we purchased an Insinkerator under-sink water heater. To make a long story short, apparentlt these products are not compatible. Our plummer (who's terrific) has never seen such incompatibility issues, but after speaking with tech support, he tells me that Waterstone insists their faucets are compatible ONLY with their brand of under-sink water heaters. Both he I also called Insinkerator, and they tell us the same: that their faucets are only compatible with Insinketator heaters. Neither company has offered a workaround.

Money isn't the issue as I can afford to buy Waterstones proprietary heater. The issue is that their heater requires a separate electrical line run (due to high amperage), and we can't do that at this point (the cabinets, granite, and tiling are installed).

My question: is it true what both companies are telling me? If not, can someone offer guidance as to how to make the Waterstone faucet compatible with the Insinkerator heater?

The faucet has 3 lines to be hooked up, a clear, a red, and a blue. I've confirmed that in fact they sent me the correct faucet (ie, it's definitely a hot water only faucet). The Insinkerator water heater is the common HWT-00 model that is carried at Home Depot.

Many, many thanks in advance.

The blue MAY be the cold supply line, the red the cold water going down to the heater and clear the hot water to the faucet, but it is only a guess, and the ISE tank also has a fourth "relief" line to the faucet which that faucet, and heater, may not need or use.
