Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie trying to replace a 20 year old tub spout where the diverter stopped working. When I took the spout off, there was a plastic casing around the pipe which appears to be fastened by a pair of metal locks (pic attached). I don't see a set screw anywhere. I can turn it in place but it's not coming off on its own. Can someone give me any pointers? Do I even need to take it off? Is there a compatible spout I can just put on top off it? The older spout appears to be a slip on Danco model (pic attached)? Thanks to anyone for their feedback.
