DIYer in need of some help please! The elbow that I need to attach my toilet flange to is not far enough down but also too far up!

The VERY TOP of the fitting is 7/8" below my subfloor. I will tile the bathroom floor. I have a toilet flange that can be glued to the socket of the fitting but in the end it will only offer my 5/8" max of glue seal between the two. Is that enough? I will feel much better with a larger glue connection.

A coupling would be too tall and will get in the way of an inside the pipe flange and the existing socket is in the way of an outside the pipe fitting (if I extended with a piece of 4" DWV).

Am I missing a very easy solution? I tried to figure this out so long my brain just hurts at this point!

To be honest, I feel like I'm really missing something and am embarrassed to be asking this question.

Thanks for any help!

I infer that's a 4" hub? Pretty sure there are extended length spigot end 4" closet flanges. Then you can cut the spigot to length.

You could also use a piece of 4" pipe and an inside the pipe closet flange. I believe alot of the closet flanges with 3" hubs are sized so that the hub fits inside a piece of 4" pipe.

Some googling should turn up one or both of those options.

Cheers, Wayne

If you put a piece of pipe into that hub, you could then use a no-glue closet flange, such as Twist-N-Set or PushTite

Discontinued unfortunately: https://www.supplyhouse.com/Sioux-C...ush-Tite-Flange-w-Stainless-Steel-Swivel-Ring even had a stainless steel ring. That went into a 4-inch pipe. The plastic-ring ones remain. https://www.supplyhouse.com/sh/control/search/~SEARCH_STRING=pushtite

Since they are not glued, they could be fairly readily replaced.

When you glue, you need to get it right the first time.

The flange should go atop the finished floor.
