It's a long story so I will skip that and get to the main question. I have sulfur water. I have bleach injected before my pressure tank, then into a 80 gal contact tank, carbon filter then softener. The carbon filter needs to be flushed before switching to peroxide. What I think will work is, draining both pressure and contact tank, turn off chlorine injection pump then fill back up and run the carbon filter thru a regen/backwash cycle to flush it out, then drain tanks again and fill back up with peroxide injected water.
I am just wondering if that will work and if flushing with sulfur water will be ok? During normal scheduled backwash it would be with chlorine or peroxide injected water. For years I did not have a contact tank and used peroxide. I was convinced to switch last fall and install the contact tank but have nothing but problems with bleach.
I was lied to by the salesman/manager who had me do the switch and he is no longer with the company. Even the tech doing the work tried to talk me out of it.
