Sticky Water

For the past couple of days, the water coming from the tap is sticky and somewhat slick at the same time. This has never happened before. I tested the water coming through my countertop water filter and it also has this quality.

I am going to call the water company on Monday and will ask about chlorine, chloramine, and manganese because I saw that you mentioned these additives in a response to someone with a very similar issue.

I did and they came out to flush a couple hydrants. I'll be keeping my eye on it to determine if that was the right fix. Thank you for your response.

Chlorine if they added to much draws the oils out of your skin feeling slick. High ph or alkalinity can cause sticky feeling.

Hard water or excess minerals also feels this way and is nothing to worry about. Test the hardeness.
