I had a Sta-Rite MSE 7 deep well pump given to me that had been disassembled for rebuild. I purchased the rebuild kit and the installation of the replacement parts is straightforward. My question is on the alignment of the volute sections when re-assembling. The only thing I can find in the manual says to put alignment marks on the volute sections prior to disassembly. I don't have that option since it was already torn down. I am fairly confiident in the alignment of the upper and lower sections just from looking at another one of these pumps that is currently in service. The upper and lower section have reference points (regulator on upper and drain plug on lower) that I can use to verify alignment. My issue is with the center section. How does it need to be aligned? Once assembled, should I be able to look through all three of the volute openings from bottom to top? Should they all align? Or should the center section be offset? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

If the exact location of the center volute was critical, dowel pins would be installed to prevent misalignment. Just align the gasket holes with the volute holes, because it would defeat the purpose of the gasket if they didn't align.

This is a jet pump one impeller? Shaft have a bronze sleeve where he seal sits? Always use dish soap on the rubber parts and the ceramic face of the seal makes installation much easier and give the ceramic some lubrication at start up.
