I have a shower that has had issues for a long time with sewer smell. I figured out that under the shower pan after the p-trap is an s-trap. Then the drain pipe goes outside. The shower drain is 15 inches to the ouside of the house, where I could vent it pretty easily. If put a vent on the outside of the house on that drain, would that satisfy the code and take care of the smell? I'm just trying to avoid having to pull the pan, break the tiles and redo everything. Thank you.
