Hello, I have an aerobic system and the first tank is just a 1000 gallon septic before it goes down the line. About halfway between my cleanout (at edge of house) and tank inlet (about 12 feet from cleanout) i have what appears to be grease.
Three months ago I replaced the section of pipe due to continuous backups. I had a plumbing company come run a camera in there and they showed me what the issue was. I went three months with no clogs. This weekend it clogged momentarily so I ordered a cheap plumbing camera on Amazon and can once again see some buildup in there.
So far I boiled about a gallon of water and dumped it down the drain. Boiled about a quarter gallon of vinegar and dumped it down the drain. Then lastly I dumped a quart of sulfuric acid down, let it sit for 15 min (as directed on label) and then flushed it with cold water for 5 minutes. Once I did this I ran my snake in there (it's a small flat one, maybe 3/4") to try to break up anything remaining.
Once I did this I ran the small camera in there and found the pipe still had some build up. How do I knock this completely off my pipes?
As to what is causing it, I'm not sure. It's my wife and I and we don't dump grease down the drain, we don't have a garbage disposal, we hand-wash our dishes, and we use liquid laundry detergent. The only thing we can think of is she used to use coconut oil for moisturizer in the shower (maybe some was built up and eventually released causing the replaced pipe to clog again?).
