Scotsman Ice Maker Inlet Connection

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to hook up my ice maker. The instructions say to use a copper inlet line, and nothing else.

The inlet connector looks like this:

The OD of the threads is 0.45"

Does this require flaring the copper pipe? Or will a compression type connection work?

Soft Copper tubing kinks and I would never use nor recommend. IF you don't want to buy your own flaring tool and use soft copper it would be easiest to remove the elbow and convert to a 3/8" compression elbow (x whatever the inlet is) Be sure to use a backup wrench on the machine when removing.
Then 3/8" comp. x 3/8" comp x whatever length.

thats correct its a flare connection you cant use a coppression fitting w out adapting or replacing that 90
