I'm installing Woodford anti-siphon faucets in my home. They'll be going along the concrete block walls in the unfinished basement. The PEX will travel along the top of the walls and in a couple spots go through the floor joists and then drop down the concrete block wall where they'll meet with he faucets.

My question is is it ok to run the PEX down/alongside the concrete block walls. Was just going to secure it to the wall with one-hole strap conduit fittings, but then read that PEX and the cinch clamps shouldn't come in contact with concrete or block walls.

Am I over-thinking this and will this be fine, or do I need to place some sort of barrier between the PEX and the concrete block wall?

If there is any minute movement at the conduit straps due to temperature changes, water hammer or both it could eventually wear through the PEX. You could fasten some pieces of wood and secure the PEX to the wood with the proper PEX clamps.

Ordered a box of these and will be returning the strap conduit fittings today. Also like these claps because they will keep the box just off the concrete wall enough where it wont touch it.

If you need any extra space you can slip washers behind those too. Anything that tries to touch the concrete you can slip some scraps of soft foam behind, or pieces of pipe insulation.

PEX doesn’t really react with concrete, so running it down or along the block wall shouldn’t be a problem. The best solution is to use plastic stand-off clips or some piece of pipe insulation where the tubing touches the wall. So, when the pipe is braced, its rubbed spots are covered, and still has some flexibility for expansion and contraction.
