During our remodel last year, we unfortunately installed the Toto Aquia IV in our guest bathrooms. Prior to this, I foolishly thought that toilets were pretty much created equal and didn't give them much thought. Boy, was I in for a surprise!! The Toto Aquia IV taught me about such things as "target zone" and water spot size... which are both very problematic with this model. The Aquia IV has a weird "shelf" that stuff sticks to and the "water spot" is really small. Both of these things contribute to it being an awful toilet. I initially approached the Toto rep who said something along the lines of "yeah, that toilet is a "scrub and flush" model", which really pissed me off. I finally got them to agree to replace both toilets because they are not advertised as "scrub and flush". Instead, they claim that the CEFIONTECT finish and the incredible Dynamax tornado flush make it very efficient - not so. Long story short, I need advice on replacement options. I am looking for a skirted, elongated, universal height toilet, that does not have the same issues as the Aquia IV. I don't care much if it is dual or single flush and one or two piece. I just don't want my guests to have to use the toilet brush... lol. Thanks in advance.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. Being the boss of my company, we refused to install Aquia. I felt so strongly I would tell customers NO, find another toilet or another plumber.
The American Standard Cadet 3 Decor at HD is skirted. Generally A.S. has used universal easy to use Fluidmaster internals for great long term serviceability.
I personally am not fond of skirted toilets except the Toto models (that are not Aquia).. Many skirted models use inferior hold down methods just like the stupid hold-down plastic blocks on the Aquia.
Stick with major brands not named Glacier Bay.
Check out MaP toilet performance and pick something that flushes 1,000 grams.

Thank you Breplum! Do you have any experience with the Toto Nexus? It looked like it didn't have the "shelf" and appeared to have a larger water spot.
