Replacing kitchen faucet

Attempting to replace kitchen faucet and do not see the customary washers and mounting nut. Looks like an U-shaped bracket. I've attached a picture.
Any ideas ?

I think i see a nut up there.
The original faucet would have come with a special tubular socket wrench to match that nut.
Without the socket tool you'd pretty much need an electric oscillating multi-tool to cut the nut.
