I have a brass pipe coming out of a water meter which is unthreaded, connected with the pictured fitting. Can I replace this brass pipe with the same size copper pipe so I can install a Water Cop device in that area?
The outside diameter of the brass pipe is 1 1/16", The brass pipe is threaded at the top of the 28" pipe.
My concern is will the copper be watertight with the existing fitting or do I need to replace the lower fitting?

Photo will follow when I figure out how to make it small. enough to fit.
Thanks
Ron

It's probably 3/4" pipe 1.05". Not seeing exactly what u have 3/4" copper with either sweat male adapters 3/4" pipe thread to sweat or sharkbite fittings.Might need to add a union? Don't know what a water cop devise is.

A water cop is a device that shuts off the supply when the sensors detect a leak

It's been around for a few decades, for example, Watts Water Guard

I installed a few in commercial applications and luxury homes

In Window Paint, try reducing the maximum dimension to 900 pixels or less. Save as .jpg file. Result should be under 200 kB.

The meter couplings in the Trumbull listing are threaded units. The item I have connecting the meter to the 3/4" brass pipe is a compression fitting.

Are you talking about the Ford fitting/pack joint on the poly? Everything else in the picture is threaded or soldered. Maybe circle where you are talking about.

water works supplier get a closeup whats the pipe 3/4 copper 7/8 od 3/4 pipe size just over an inch 1.050 approx .
I cant tell what you want sounds like the autocop is going on top of the valve maybe tahe that 28 inch long brass pipe out cut it shorter stick the plain end back in the coupling you have and thead a copper fip adapter on and rebuild that section with your water cop in the middle. Looks like its 3/4 meter coupling to compression IPS like they use over polyethelene but havent worked with it in a long time . your saying thats brass pipe i see those joints on the anglestop on water meters here in so cal going over 3/4 copper or poly pipe thats typicaly ips i belive

That is a pack joint fitting, possibly a male adapter. If the black pipe is brass and not HDPE it will be IPS size not CTS which is copper size. If it is HDPE it could be IPS or CTS. You would most likely need a new fitting. If using copper I would just solder a male adapter on.
