I'm removing an interior wall above a finished basement. The supply lines for an old laundry there run to the outside wall along the floor joist where it T-s. I cut a hole in the floor to access.
The 1.5" waste pipe runs with the supply lines, only it elbows and runs straight down the outside wall. The vent pipe is tied into another vent across the vaulted ceiling in the opposite direction.
What is the proper way to remove these lines? Can the waste pipe be capped in place? Can the horizontal section of the vent be capped any particular distance from the main vent in the ceiling? Can the supply lines be capped, or should the Ts be replaced with couplers?
Other suggestions?
I'd include pics, but the servers didn't like them.

Really the t's should be replaced with coulpings, but most people don't do that they just cap the tees.

You can cap the drain and vent anywhere but be aware that they will likley fill with water over time so capping them so they can drain is good. I went to a house that called about a leak in the basement and seemed like it was on a shower supply line in the above. When we cut into the wall it was actually condensate water from an abandoned vent in the wall they no one capped off. It's best to go back to where things tie in and erase that they existed, but mostly not practical.

Got a photo to show finally. Nevermind the obvious mouse sign...
John, I appreciate your comment. Do you think the cold water line will be an issue since the cap would be below it at the T?
