Hello all,
Recently purchased old house with 2 decommissioned water wells. The well house was torn down but perhaps these are still viable? The property is on city water now, but I'd sure like to see about re-commissioning for irrigation. Actually, I'm guessing these were never used for domestic use because there is a huge brick cistern in the front yard. That might have been for water that was delivered?
#1 appears to be a 1.5" driven well. Not sure what the inner pipe is--maybe a sucker rod? If so, do I need to remove?
#2 consists of two Woodford yard hydrants. Guessing the one with the vent is the well and the other is to prime?
I'd appreciate any tips for finding out if these function. Do I just prime & hook up a pump to see what happens? Blast with compressed air? Thanks in advance.
