Hello.
I had replaced an old sprinkler controller with a Wyze sprinkler controller and noticed that include a master valve control connections.
In general, how is the master valve on/off timing related to that of the downstream zone valves, to de-pressurize the system.
If I have to integrate a master valve into my existing DIY irrigation system, should I use a anti-siphon valve, a in-line sprinkler valve or something more specific?
Thank you for your advice in advance.

After some more research, I find that the Lawn Genie anti-siphon installation guide indicates that there must not be any valve downstream of an anti-siphon valve; so that eliminates the anti-siphon valve; also I come across a YT Short on master valve installation indicating that a master valve comes on before a zone valve. I am leaning towards adding a typical in-line sprinkler solenoid valve to serve the function of a master valve so the water on/off can be controlled electronically. Any comments or advice? Thanks.

Wifi sprinkler controllers for normal home systems on muni utility water don't need master control valves.
BTW, I have all B-hyve from Orbit wi-fi controllers...and NO CHARGE for lifetime weather monitoring, no monthly costs!!!
Wyze products push subscriptions, which is a waste of money.

Agree, best to avoid subscription whenever possible. In retrospect, choosing the Wyze sprinkler was indeed not a wise decision; there is not a lot of posts on that device at their forum and I get the impression the product is being discontinued (just my gut feeling); my purchase decision was based on 1) my decent experience with other Wyze products (cam, lock & vacuum cleaner) and 2) minimize the number of IoT phone apps.

As for my sprinkler issue, my motivation is to have an automatic control to shut off water in case of leaks from downstream valves (of course, the right way is to root cause the leaking downstream valve but that open another can of worms in term of isolating the leaking valve, at least in my case :) Yesterday, I saw a friend's implementation that use a motorized 3/4" brass ball valve with standard port, 9-24V AC/DC and 2 wire auto return setup.

Thanks.
