Going to be changing the set up in my primary bath shower and could use some insight into if either of these changes are worthwhile.
Currently I have dedicated 1/2" pex-B lines for the shower that come off of a manifold in the basement that is fed by 3/4" pex-b. While the water pressure is pretty decent when just using the shower head, it drops off pretty hard if you turn on the shower wand.
I will be changing the current setup to a Delta r22000 with a 6 way diverter. It will go to a shower head, a handheld, and a rather large rain shower head (Model #52159-SS-PR25). I have 2 questions about what is worthwhile or not:
  1. Is there any benefit to feeding each of the three fixtures with 3/4" pex-b? Probably not the case, but my thought was if there are 2 - 1/2" supply lines to the valve, the output into a 3/4" pex-b would be higher than just 1/2" pex-b. Also, are there any negatives to doing this?
  2. Is it worth the hassle of running new 3/4" pex-b supply lines from the basement to the valve...or is there not much of a benefit.
Appreciate any insight.
