I have a one pipe pump in my shed which is 8 feet above the lake. It’s suction pipe is normally 2 feet below lake level but the nj drought it’s about 6 inches below lake level. Its output has gone down about 70 percent. I’m pushing this water over 150 garden hose on almost level land
Is the fact that the lake is so low the pump is having difficulty to pull water? There is a foot valve with screen in the lake and it’s not sucking air. Cannot lower pipe then there could be sucking crud from lake bottom. New pump or wait for rain ️. Thanks

Intake screen may have crud/debris. This would affect the flow.

How much PSI will the pump generate if you put a pressure gauge on the end of the hose, blocking flow? Don't run it that way for long. Maybe 30 seconds, because water is not flowing.

What pump is it? Jet pump, or irrigation pump?

It’s a jet pump one pipe 3/4 hp. When it was working the pressure switch was 25/45 and with a hose nozzle attached was 38 psi
I’ll find the pressure guage for the output hose bib
