Pressure gauge drop when using hose

Well works completely fine when irrigation is not being used.
When hose is on, but spray nozzle is not engaged, pressure tank holds at 42psi. When pulling the trigger on the hose, two things happen: sometimes pump doesn’t even engage (switch issue?) Other times when hose is being sprayed pressure tank psi drops rapidly but pump kicks on, however the rate at which pressure tank loses pressure exceeds the rate at which pump is sending water, which leads to 0 psi and loss of prime.
Well is a shallow well. Drummond 1hp pump. Switch set to 24/42. Well does have significant sediment.

I know those pumps are cheap, but they are not made to last. Irrigating with a Drummond is not a good idea as they are not made for continuous duty. Pressure tank has nothing to do with it. When you use more water than the pump can put out the pressure will drop to nothing. Try restricting the hose to keep the pressure up. When the pump "doesn't engage", it is probably not a switch issue. The built in overload is tripping because the pump is made only for light duty.

Max pressure is at shut off 50 lb with no flow. The 950 gph/ 15.8 gpm is with as close to wide open with 0 pressure drop.
