Pipe Extractor Recommendations

I’m new here, I didn’t see an faq or intro section so I hope it’s cool if I jump right in.

I’m a maintenance tech for a big, old apartment building, among other things I do a lot of light duty plumping- snaking drains, replacing faucets, replacing washers on shower cartridges, replacing toilet fill valves and flappers, replacing tub spouts with bad diverters, anything more complicated than that we usually call in a real plumber.

I’ve had a few runs ins now with badly corroded, galvanized nipples behind tub spouts, sometimes they’re so bad they just crumble under a pipe wrench, after Googling it I think I need a set of pipe extractors and wanted to get some recommendations. I usually think of Ridgid being the good stuff but their extractors have straight ridges instead of the spirals I see on other ones and I wasn’t sure how well that would work. Any input would be appreciated.

Well we went ahead and ordered the Ridgid set. One of our roving techs was onsite today and he happened to have a set of the smaller spiral extractors. Our order hadn’t arrived so I tried his and they slipped several times without budging the pipe. Right about that time the Ridgid set got delivered so I tried those and they took the pipe right out without any trouble at all. Lots more length to work with too. I’d say the Ridgid extractors are way better.
