Old Delta push button tub faucet still leaking after replacing push button

I have the attached older style Delta tub faucet with the push button style diverter. The spout was leaking so I replaced the push button but it still leaks. It is better but there is still a constant stream (about 1/8 to 3/16" wide stream) coming out of the tub spout. Is there a way to fix this? I have not replaced the cartridge in the handle.

The push button diverter should have fixed it. if you purchased an after market push button diverter (not original delta) then that might be the reason. sometimes the generic stuff doesn't always work right.

It was a genuine Delta replacement part. I actually called Delta and they said that it is normal for their diverters to allow a small stream of water to come from the tub spout: https://www.deltafaucet.com/node/857
