I’m about ready to replace my dads bad pressure tank and tee. I’m a pretty good handyman and it’s looks pretty straightforward. I have the new tank ready to go, precharged to 28psi for my 30-50 switch. Looks like I will need to sweat one joint on the output side and undo a hose clamp on the input side. Is there anything I need to watch out for with this job or is it as easy as it looks?

You’re preaching to the choir Valveman. I have a CSV at my house and love it. But this is my 90 year old dads house which will probably be on the market sometime in the near future. I’m just going to replace the 20 gal pressure tank which only cost $250, and leave it at that. So I’m just looking for any suggestions for doing that. Any things I need to watch out for.

Expect it to be heavy. Will you try to remove water by drilling in through the shell and diaphragm to let water out to make it lighter? If so, the rubber will be somewhat self-sealing, so the drill bit will have to be big enough. I have never done it myself.
