Did you know if you give advice on piping lets say "gas work" and something goes amiss like a tiny explosion which happens a lot YOU can be be sued and possibly charged with manslaughter
My employees are taking a 16 hour class just to work on natural gas piping and last week I had to take another 8 hour class (CEU) even thought I only have more than 54 years working on gas piping.
Even though they passed their journeymen card requirements... To work on LOW PRESSURE gas they need to be certified..
The only advice I ever give as far as gas work is
"Call a licensed plumber have the work filed and possibly inspected" as this is called CYA
I testified against a "plumber" who told someone how to replace a gas cock on the fly and there was an explosion as the person doing the work crossed threaded the new valve and had no idea when another shut off was.
"At least one person is dead after an
explosion at a
Bronx apartment building set off a massive fire and led to a partial building collapse on Tuesday. The NYPD said a 77-year-old woman was dead, and two other women, ages 68 and 82, were in stable condition."
"YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — A massive explosion blew out much of the ground floor of an apartment building, killing a bank employee and injuring several other people. Police and emergency officials initially blamed natural gas, but the fire chief later said the cause is under investigation."
As Jeff wisely stated "its just gas what could go wrong"
FITTER did you know a NFPA / AGA and most plumbing codes will place a violation on a job if someone even thinks of using a "bushing" on gas piping.
The reason is quite simple . A bushing can crack when being made up and a leak goes undetected UNTIL BOOM
