I have a house. The City sends 91 PSI, but we do not have an adequate flow of water. Oftentimes the water we get is full of air bubbles and reminds you have the foam on the waves at a beach. I have had this problem throughout the house. Nothing I have done has solved the problem and no plumber has solved it. The problem has worsened overtime. I have a PRV set at 80. If I take the pressure down to 65, the water does not flow through the lines. The PRV has been changed. I took the PRV out and put a pipe and the water volume did not change. I saw that we had water coming through the lines before the PRV. I have no idea what is causing the problem. Neighbors do not have the same problem. The issues is in both sides of the house.
The house is PEX. One side of the house has a 1-inch line, but the other side has it goes to 3/4 and then 1/2 which we discovered was too low, but the water volume continues to disappear - we have only half of what we had when we moved in, and the house with the 1-inch line also suffers.
Three years ago, a line outside broke, and there was a pressure drop in the area. All the water in our house disappeared but our neighbors continued to have water with a minor drop in pressure. It told us that somewhere the water flow is compromised but we have absolutely no idea what is contributing to the problem. Please help. Plumbers are baffled.
