Hello everyone. Firstborn me here and post as well. Need some advice. I am installing a stackable washer dryer in a closet. I am having to install all the components required to have a w/d here. Meaning dryer vent, electrical and plumbing. This closet is next to a half bath room meaning just a sink. My question is hooking the stand pipe of the washer to the existing drain line of the bath sink.
I saw this on line and want to make sure it I would work. Here is the pic.
Would this pass code? Would it work properly?
Thank you in advance

No, that's for a laundry sink and a standpipe sharing a single trap. Not for a lavatory with an existing trap. The lav trap may be 1-1/4" or 1-1/2", and your standpipe needs to be 2" with a 2" trap.

You'll need to plumb your standpipe with a separate trap and pull off a separate vent. That vent can tie into the lavatory dry vent at least 6" above both flood rim levels. Or you can use an AAV for the standpipe vent, if you put a ventilated AAV box in the wall, but the dry vent is better.

Then your standpipe drain should join the half bath drain downstream of where the lav and the WC join together, because the lav may be wet venting the WC and joining earlier would disrupt the wet venting.

Cheers, Wayne
