Kohler single handle tub valve, changed all parts still only hot water.
Changed the cartridge first, with a Danco 11019, same size and fit as the OEM 73716-AA cartridge. Had decent water pressure from both hot and cold lines with no cartridge installed. Reassembled and still had no cold water. Changed the Mixer assembly, still no cold water. Actually it dripped very little in both cases.. Used a Danco 12109 for the mixer assembly.
I am at a loss here. I could be wrong the way I tested it. I turned on the cold and hot one at a time; hot water ran fine, cold water only dripped. Also no cold when I had both hot and cold lines active.
FWIW also installed the cartridge with both ways so the cold would run through one and then the other opening.
Upon removal after trying the new parts all of the O rings were in proper places.
One thing I did notice is that when I loosened one of the screws holding the mixer in place cold water did seem to flow, but only temporarily. Yes, I forgot to turn off the cold water when I did that.
I am thinking that 1) the new cartridge is bad - but don't know of any way to test it except the way I did after installing it. or 2) I am missing something.
Picked up the parts at a local Lowe's.
