I have a new Kohler 360 Cimeron toilet and I really like it. What I don't like about it as it's a water squeezer at 1.26 galllons. Really?
Yes indeed the flush clears the bowl but I like some water flow to get the debris out to the street instead of it resting below the toilet in the lines. I removed the lid and when this flushes it leaves at least a half gallon of water in the tank as the drain is well off the bottom of the tank. I'd love to have access to all that water for a real flush. Has anyone ever modified this canister flush valve to move the actual drain closer to the bottom of the tank? Or maybe installed an old style flapper that has serviced us for years and years?

Thanks for taking your time for a response or idea...........

March 6, 2025 1.28 gallon per flush is the new epa standard. Old standard was 1.6 gallon. Those canisters have a bigger hole than the old flapper. Think without a redesign your stuck with what you have.

I would just hold the handle down if there is concern about moving the waste totally through the pipes. I have seen where some people have taken kohler tanks apart (Wellworths, Hignlines, etc.) and replaced the flush tower with a standard flapper valve - but that would be a total pain to do.
