Hello all,

I have a 25+ year old model 60. It is cycling sporadic and when it runs and I get really dark water in the house during the cycle. This has been happening for a month or two. I dissembled the the head and in layer 2, there were several holes that were partially blocked. I was able to clear them out, but it did not resolve the issue. Everything in the control valve moved freely and no other build up that I could see.

As for it cycling on a regular basis, both water meter seemed to be operating properly. I didn't notice any broken gears.

Any ideas what I should look at?

Thank you for your help.
Steve

Is this a water softener with a brine tank that you add salt to?

I did find that the float switch in the brine tank was stuck. So that part has been resolved. Im not sure if that will resolve the dark water coming into the house during a cycle.
My secondary problem still exists where it will not cycle when its time. Sometimes it does and sometimes I have to do it manually.
