This is in a condo building. All the parts of 30-40 years old. I would like to replace the valves and check valve/backflow preventer that serves my washing machine. There is an isolation valve that connects to the humidifer, then there is the check valve/backflow preventer, then we get to the dahl valves, and finally, the hose leading to the machine. there would be a mix of soldering, compression, and threading. There is a main water shut off behind the drywall that is not in this pic.

Many feed the humidifier from the hot water.

I have not seen much discussion on check valves for laundry taps that are directly feeding washing machines. If it is important for the hot, why would it not be important for the cold?

I went searching around to try to see if washing machines have built-in check valves, but I did not find anything along those lines.

both the hot and cold water lines will be identical, only difference is that the isolation valve to feed the humidifier will be located on the hot water line only

If your going to have the backflow preventer valve. I would put all the valves including the humidifier before the backflow preventer.

based on your suggestion then, should i get backflow preventer valves that can swivel on one side so enable it to connect to the hoses?

can i also confirm with you that a backflow preventer valve rated for continuous pressure is appropriate for my end? i do not intend to turn the laundry valves off when not in use. they seem to be expensive at $100 per valve!
