We have a Marina that needs Internet for security cameras. The main walkway is 1,200'. The ramp from land, where the Internet source is, is 100' up a ramp.
I think I should run a cable infrastructure, as opposed to wireless, since wireless has too much loss when repeating.
I think I want to use fiber patch cables (no termination hassle) up to 300'-500' since we have frequent lightening (copper and lightening bad). Only the first 100' will be on land.
I suspect I need to run it in Conduit, under the wooden walkway. But I wonder if I can get away with using outdoor/direct bury cabling under the walkway. specially high tides can submerge the walkway, I might be able to elevate the run.
Out of the 1,200' there will be maybe 8-10 cameras. Plan to use a Nema box at each camera.
Thoughts?

A well-designed system typically combines high-powered outdoor Wi-Fi access points, strategic antenna placement, and weather-resistant equipment to ensure coverage across docks, slips, and common areas.

I had a similar setup in a small marina and fiber was the only stable solution. Copper didn’t hold up because of moisture and lightning. Run everything in PVC conduit and raise the junction points where flooding happens most often.

We use engenius wifi repeaters. They should have no issues with that distance.
