Hey Guys,

I haven't had any issues w inspectors over Pex for like 5 years.. But all of a sudden Cat is telling me that my Uponor Pex to Uponor angle stops under kitchen sink is not code compliant. (though she can't tell me where it says anything about it being no Bueno.

They stub out of cabinet base, are about 12'' long, sleeved in pvc and strapped to a piece of 2x4 on the back of island cabinet.. Never had any issues with this before.... is there any code at all that prevents this?? thanks Rob. cant get the pictures to load

job is in Santa cruz county ca.

Seems like the onus is on the inspector to cite the section of the California Plumbing Code that is being violated. So ask the inspector for a code reference.

Inspectors sometimes red-flag standard installations due to local code interpretations. Your PEX looks to be safe and protected with PVC, but local codes may require additional protection or support. It’s a good idea to check with a local inspector or certified plumber for clarification on the concern.

If she is saying that uponor as a company doesn't allow it to be installed where light can harm it she has a point. But generally it's not considered a risky install in a cabinet. Better ask for clarification.
