I'm wanting to install an undersink filter as part of a kitchen remodel to serve both a water dispenser by the sink and the fridge ice maker. Does it make sense to install a 3/8" comp filter with a tee: 3/8 comp to the water dispenser and 1/4 plastic tube through the wall to the fridge?

Are there better options? I only want to have to service one filter.

If you might make your filter a reverse osmosis unit at some time, you don't want the RO water to be in contact with metal.

Yes, that setup should work well! A 3/8" comp filter with a tee is a good choice—just connect 3/8" to the dispenser and 1/4" to the fridge. Ensure the filter can handle demand for both and matches the fridge's pressure needs. This keeps it simple with only one filter to maintain! Read more...
