Hi all. I am converting my tub with a separate shower into a full walk-in shower.

Permanently removing tub.

Would like to know the proper way to cap off drain and water lines.

For the drain, is it simply cap and glue after cutting off to floor level? Should I remove the p-trap then cap? If not, do I empty p-trap or fill or let it dry out?

For the pex water lines, what would be the best material to cap this? Should I cut enough to tuck them behind the sheetrock or trace it to the source and cap there? Single story home. Above the bathroom is the attic. Looks like the water lines run up.

Any help would be appreciated. Links to proper material would be great too. Thanks!
