Hello

sorry in advance for the detailed questions, I am a car mechanic and working on irrigation for the first time.... just hoping to succeed with the job below.

I need to replace a Irritrol 2711APR valve that went bad.

I have a new 2711APR valve and also purchased two 3/4" male adapters.

I wanted to ask how tight should the male adapters in terms of screwing them into the valve?

This is the first time I am doing this type of work and tend to be an over achiever and don't want to overtighten them.

Should the adapters thread all the way in as far as possible? Or just so they are tight?

The installation sheet says to use 3-5 turns of PTFE tape, is that 3-5 turns of white or the thicker pink tape. I have both white and pink, which should I use and how many turns for white vs pink.

Three wraps is fine, too much and it bunches up.
Threads are tapered, you will never thread it on all the way, tight is good, don't break anything though.
