How do you test a hot surface igniter on a furnace or boiler. Do they all require different ohms or amps

The only 'bad' ones I've dealt with have a physical break, so zero would be the reading. But, never had to take a reading, since no-glow is a dead giveaway every time.
Sure, in a blue-moon there could be a failure on the board, but rare enough that HSI is first and easy.
