Forgive me if this problem has been covered before. ...homeowner on city water which supplies 20 GPM @ 40PSI. I would like to boost the pressure to 70 PSI but at times I calculate my water usage can rise to 25 GPM for short periods of time. I have had Amtrol style diaphragm tanks before but they became starved of water during high usage periods and the pumps would overheat and not maintain pressure. Some have suggested pairing a booster pump with a large water storage tank and this is where I get confused--large tanks are not pressurized so wouldn't that create problems for the booster pump and pressurized tanks have a small draw down (30 gallons) so that doesn't give me much water during high usage times. What is the best solution?
