I have a rusted cast iron elbow that has a hole in the elbow and drips a small amount of water. The two cast iron pipes on either side are 2.5 inches OD. I was thinking of a rubber coupler and PVC Elbow, but everything seems geared to 2" or 3". or just a rubber elbow that is 2.5"

2.5 inch would be a nominal 2 inch I think. Nominal size is closer to ID.

Before cutting or breaking cast iron, secure the pipe above with hangers. A riser clamp may be useful, along with some carpentry.

I suggest you post a photo showing the pipe that can be seen. It is usually best to use the plastic pipe that they use on your earth. Use shielded couplings rather than just rubber.

Reduce your photo to a jpeg 900x900 pixel max, 200KB max. Go wide enough to catch the piping that is available to be swapped.
