We are on a well and our water hardness has migrated to a much higher level, 40 grains, forcing me to install a much larger softener to meet softening demands.

Our new softener is a 14x65 with 3 cu ft of fine mesh resin, supplying a 96k capacity.

I need help programming this beast to be efficient as possible, since I will need to own stock in a salt mine ;) There are 4 people in the house and no iron present.

System info (not programmed)
Size 1 Injector
BLFC: 0.50
Drain button: 4.0
Cubic ft Fine Mesh Resin: 3.0
Hardness : 40
Iron: 0
Manganese: 0
People in the home: 4
Estimated gal/day: 280 (70 gal per person)

Brine Tank:
24"x 40" w/ brine grid and 7" space between bottom of tank and top of grid.

The controller is a 5610SXT

DF: GAL
VT: 5810

System info (not programmed)
salt lb/cuft : 7.5 ; A choice ( efficiency vs capacity)
BLFC : 0.5 ; Brine Refill rate GPM
cubic ft resin : 3 ; Same as (nominal grains/32,000)
Raw hardness : 40 ; including iron etc
Estimated gal/day ; 280 ; 60 gal per person prediction (auto-tunes)
Est days/regen ; 5.14 ; presuming days each use estimated
I would start here:

Fleck 5810SXT Settings:
DF = Gal ; Units
VT = 5810 ; Valve type
RF = dF2b ; Downflow, Double Backwash
CT = Fd ; Meter Delayed regen trigger
C = 69 ; capacity in 1000 grains
H = 48 ; Hardness grains after comp factor
RS = cr ; Cr = base reserve on recent experience
DO = 30 ; Day Override (typ 30 if no iron/Mn)
RT = 2:00 ; Regen time (default 2 AM)
B1 = 5 ; Backwash 1 (minutes) [3...10]
Bd = 90 ; Brine draw minutes #1 injector
B2 = 4 ; Backwash 2 (minutes)[3...10]
RR = 6 ; Rapid Rinse minutes
BF = 15 ; Brine fill minutes
FM = t1.2 (usual) ; t1.2 is default flow meter
RE = OFF ; Relay
VR = OFF ; ?
