I'm quite familiar with Stenner and other feed pumps for metering a chlorine solution used in well water treatment. Where I have particularly bad iron or sulfur bacteria problems I have fed solution directly into the well casing with good results, i.e. more contact time even with contact tanks. I have never used pellet chlorinators to drop pellets into the well casing but am intrigued. I have a test case with bad iron bacteria: 60' well, 4" pvc cased, probably 10'-20' of screen at the bottom, static level probably 15', jet pump.

Will pellets do a more thorough job of chlorine distribution in the well than liquid?

Will they sink to the bottom too fast and not mix with water coming in the top 10' of well screen?

I appreciate any advice!
