I have a Grohe shower system with one showerhead and 3 body spray installed around 1999-2000. In the recent couple of weeks, water started to drip out of the temperature knob. The drip continues no matter I keep the temperature to highest or lowest. Please help me to
1) Identify the model of the system;
2) Is the problem with the stop valve cartridge behind the thermostat knob or the something wrong with the o-ring? What is the part number ? Do I have to change the whole stop valve cartridge or just the O-ring?
3) How should I take the knob cap off? Just twist it off?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

The cap unscrews.
not even opening my parts book, I am pretty sure this is what you need.
but you need the exploded parts diagram and instructions. I may be able to get that another day.

Thank you so much for your help. I have no problem with hot/cold mixing or temperature control. It just drip very slowly. Is the problem on stop valve cartridge or this thermostatic cartridge? I just need to clarify before ordering it

The little stop valves on each side do nothing but allow for shut-off during servicing.
The cartridge is an enigmatic entity and not small parts were ever made available. So, unless you want to be a pioneer, just order the cartridge.
Make sure to discern the specific cartridge you have and confirm supply size 1/2" vs 3/4" also
