I'm in the process of converting a basement bathtub into a shower and I'm having an issue running the drain.

The bathtub drain is very close to the wall as you can imagine and I need to move the drain out to 16 inches but there's a toilet waste line in the way. I thought of going over, but the shower drain ends up being much too high if I do it that way.

My thought now instead is to cut the brass drain off at the elbow, and use an angled Fernco to run pipe under the toilet waste. That would get me low enough to connect my shower drain the way I'd like.

WI'll this work?

Most common

There are no hub fittings 1/32 1/16 bend 1/8 bend 1/4 bends

Or we usually get a grinder and cut a 45 in half or cut a long sweep and make the angle we need

If you have Galvanized drainage, there are.

11/4 221/2 45 deg 60 deg and 90 Deg. fititngs

If you're using pipe can have a crooked tread to change the angle.

We do that a lot for drainage and for a better pitch on steam condensate lines, or rent a Ridgid 65R
