Diverter valve copper stub with 2 male adapters?

Hello,

Can I solder a male adapter on both ends aa copper pipe and use that as my shower diverter valve stub out?

The drop ear to finished tile is odd and I want to just make my own copper nipple.

Is there anything wrong with this?
