Current shower base is 31" but I cannot find that size, can I use a 32" shower base instead?

Where are your measurements coming from for your existing shower base? Finished wall? Shower bases, tubs, stalls etc are measured from rough studs. So likely you would have a 32" shower base installed. I've never heard of a 31". Not to say they couldn't exist, but it would be odd.

Agree with the above but if you truly have a 31 inch opening there is a high likelihood a bit of notching can make a 32 fit never heard of a 31 inch pan though.
