I want to move my laundry in my basement, to the other side of my main stack here. There's a 4" cleanout as shown in the pic. I was thinking of removing the cap & housing, replace with a donut, and put in a 45 street 4" pipe followed by a 4x4x2 so that I can have a 2" connection for the laundry and maintain a nice cleanout option. Does this seem feasible or is this a horrible idea. I'm operating off the assumption if this is a good idea, the nightmare will be removing the lead for the donut.

I tried unscrewing the cap but no luck, it's from 1949 so who knows if the threads are any good anyway.

We hope the plug is brass (not attracted to a magnet). Those get cut/chiseled out.

Confirmed, brass. So just sawzall it out?
Search Google and Youtube for removing brass plug from cast iron.

I have not done it myself, but I have watched some Youtube videos. I am expecting to do it at some point.
