**WaterSoft 24,000 unit (circa 2011) Demand water softener model DS24VP with the 2092 Isobar 1 Control Valve
**My house has well water with 10 grains water hardness. No iron, no manganese. I am in a very pure MN aquifer 320 feet down.
**Salt settings are Pre-Set at the factory for the maximum shown on the capacity chart.
**It's only me in the house, guests are very minimal
I am trying to determine the best setting for automatic regeneration. I've been online and what I am seeing is all over the board so I'm a bit confused!
One site calculated that I could go approximately 2,000 gallons between regens. Another site says that with my minimal usage, I could go to the maximum unit setpoint of 2,400 gallons between regens.. Then I also see other sites which say that I shouldn't go longer than 14 days between regens, another site says I shouldn't go longer than 21 days and yet another says I shouldn't go longer than 28 days!
With many of you guys working on them on a regular basis and if it were your unit with the above specs, what are your recommendations? My concern is that if I set it to a 2,000 gallon regen cycle, this would then put me at around 28 days between regenerations...... is that too long?? Is that enough to keep the softener resin healthy?
Thanks in advance!
